A: LM-series bearings follow the Japanese JIS standard (e.g., LM20UU: 20mm bore, 32mm OD, 42mm length), while LME-series bearings follow the European DIN standard (e.g., LME20UU: 20mm bore, 32mm OD, slightly different length). If your machine was designed in Europe, LME is typically the correct fit; for Asian or general-purpose equipment, LM is the standard choice.

A: LUU (long type) bearings have a longer body than the standard UU version, providing more ball contact with the shaft. This increases the moment load capacity, improves stability in cantilevered or side-loaded applications, and reduces shaft deflection. Use LUU when the bearing must support loads applied away from the bearing centerline.

A: "OP" (or "Open") indicates the bearing has a slot cut along its length, allowing it to be used on shafts that already have components attached (it can slide onto a mid-shaft position rather than from the end). Open bearings sacrifice some load capacity versus sealed types but offer installation flexibility.

A: For food processing, pharmaceutical, marine, or washdown environments, we recommend SS304 or SS440C stainless steel variants. SS440C offers higher hardness and load capacity than SS304 but at a slightly higher cost. Nickel-plated versions provide moderate corrosion resistance for less demanding environments at lower cost than full stainless.

A: Linear bearings require hardened shafts (HRC 58–62) with surface finish Ra ≤ 0.4 µm and diameter tolerance h6 or better. Using unhardened or undersized shafts will cause premature bearing failure and void warranty claims.

A: Recommended maximum speed varies by size and type, typically 3–5 m/s for standard sealed bearings. Open-type (OP) and long-type (LUU) bearings generally operate at somewhat lower speeds. Contact us with your specific application parameters for a speed and load compatibility check.

A: Yes. SQ accepts OEM orders for non-standard bore diameters, custom body lengths, special seal configurations, and non-standard surface treatments. A technical drawing or sample is required; sample prototyping is available before bulk production.

A: For European market entry, linear bearings typically require RoHS and REACH compliance. SQ holds both certifications (RoHS 2021, REACH 2024). CE marking is generally not mandatory for linear bearings as standalone components, but we can provide material declarations and test reports as required by your customers.

A: SQ offers a 12-month product quality warranty from the date of delivery under normal operating conditions. Damage resulting from improper installation, shaft incompatibility, or operating beyond rated load/speed specifications is not covered. We recommend applying anti-rust oil for bearings in storage or infrequent-use applications.
